With a record turnout, 39 children showed up to race. This year, there was a new addition, well, two to be exact. An Akwesasne youth is missing, and the family desperately needs your help in finding him. Timothy John Benedict-Leaf was last expected to be headed to Cornwall to go out with friends. On Saturday February 16, 2013 the Hogansburg Akwesasne VFD hosted an electric vehicle safety course sponsored by Franklin County Emergency Services, over 35 responders from fire departments across Franklin County took part in the training. New York State reportedly owes the Massena Central School District $800,000 and the Salmon River Central School District $3.4 million to cover tuition for Native American students who live on the reservation and attend those schools. The state owes Salmon River payments dating back to the 2010-11 school year, which is $12.3 million overall when including the St. Regis Mohawk School, which is funded solely by the state.
