By Kaniehtonkie. On January 24, 2023, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued for public comment “Action Levels for Lead in Food Intended for Babies and Young Children: Draft Guidance for Industry.” As the FDA outlined in their ‘Closer to Zero’report, they expect over time for this guidance, together with other activities, to result in the baby food industry to progressively reduce levels of lead in foods to as low as possible. The draft guidance supports the FDA’s goal of reducing dietary exposure to lead, arsenic, cadmium and mercury,...

Hastiin Tadidiin (Diné) was murdered in the winter of 1916. Federal agents found him inside his hogan, about 10 miles northeast of Kaibeto, Navajo Nation, Arizona, when they came to round up his children and forcibly transport them to a nearby federally funded boarding school. His family estimates that he was in his 70s when he was shot with at least 10 bullets. Records and family history reveal that he died trying to protect two of his children, at least one of whom, a daughter, was taken away after his death and placed in boarding school....

And they say she went for one last walk through t...

A running meme was, 'What in the Native Super Bowl is going on here?... We had Chiefs and Eagles playing against each other... while a pregnant Auntie preformed at the half time show." Indeed, the Superbowl was Indigenized. On a more serious note, one of biggest games in American sports took place this past Sunday on native land and the Phoenix metropolitan area held all sorts of festivities celebrating and building up to the game that took place in State Farm Stadium on Sunday between the...
New York State has been experiencing reduced school enrollment for about a decade. By Anonymous There is a saying in Peru, if you’re born poor, you die poor. This saying applies to the rural Indigenous Peruvians where hopelessness abounds and equality of opportunity is nonexistent. You work to survive and hopefully provide for your family. Last night, I was in the streets again observing the mass protests by Indigenous people. Rather than abating, the protests are gathering steam as the number of protestors swell. More University students and professors are joining in along with former military and busloads of rural I...

By Isaac White. A report from the Pentagon has revealed a dramatic rise in UFO sightings across the U.S. After more than a year of focusing attention on unidentified flying objects that military pilots have seen but sometimes been hesitant to report due to fears of being labeled as crazy, The United States Department of Defense established the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) in July 2022 to track unidentified objects underwater or in space. That covers a really fascinating topic: things that can transition across different domains....

By Isaac White. So, I decided to watch a movie for this week’s edition of Entertainment Binge. You People is a Netflix comedy that was recently added to the lineup. I’ve read quite a few reviews for the film, and to be honest, they’re mostly negative. This critic disagrees in a big way, and I’ll explain further. The movie’s basic plot has been explored before in the last 25 years. Two people of different races meet, fall in love, and find the divide between their cultural differences too difficult to overcome, but this finally results i...
