A banner season for the Salmon River Shamrocks girls varsity hockey team came to an end in state playoffs. The ‘Rocks lost to Section 3 champions the Clinton Warriors on Saturday, Feb. 8 at Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid, the site of the legendary “Miracle on Ice” during the 1980 Winter Olympics. The final score was 1-0. A scoreless opening stanza saw Clinton reel off six shots compared to just one for the Shamrocks.
