    Tsi Snaihne School held it’s annual Science on the Wall competition on Tuesday, February 9th. Students worked hard throughout the month of January researching and compiling facts, finding photos and creating an informational poster on an animal of their choice.     Black Tern - Chlidonias niger Black terns are migratory birds that can be found along most waterways around Akwesasne from late spring to early fall. It is considered to be a species that is of special concern in Canada as much of the habitat it requires for nesting is being diminished.     The Cornwall atom A Typhoons, coached by Elliott Lazore won silver in Nepean. They recorded a 4-2 record at the annual Nepean Girls Hockey Tournament, finishing second behind the North Bay Ice Bolts. Both of the Typhoons losses were to the Ice Bolts, including a 2-1 win over Cornwall in the championship game. Cornwall’s single goal came from Taylor Barkley with a setup from Lauren McLeod.     The North Franklin basketball program had another successful season this winter. The seven and eight year old team coached by Heather Durant and Jeremy Leduc as been learning new basketball skills for two months.     The Akwesasne Bantam B Hockey Team played in the Cornwall Bantam Hockey Tournament this past weekend. The first game played was against Kahnawake with Akwesasne winning on a score of 10-1. Scoring for Akwesasne was Naylen Laffin, and Grayson both scoring hat tricks, Ronnie Boots with 2 goals, Brantley Adams, and Ty Terrance with singles.     St. Lawrence University sophomore Alley Bero of Akwesasne welcomed her newest hockey fan Saturday with a hug and kiss on the cheek. Mark Tarbell, son of Pat and Carl Tarbell, watched Bero and her SLU Saints womens hockey team teammates play against Rensselaer last Saturday afternoon.
