    With seconds left to play in the fourth quarter, Abby Kelly stole the ball tossed in by one of the Norwood-Norfolk players to get an assist with 1.6 seconds left in the game. The Salmon River Girls Varsity Basketball team continued their undefeated streak to bring them 10-0 for the season by beating N-N 69-28.   • Local team competes in tournament

    The North Franklin Basketball team and the team from Massena were the only local teams who entered the tournament at Ellenburg on the weekend of the 29th and 30th. Other teams that joined were placed in a “A” and “B” division. It was fast action competition all weekend and saw so many talented players.   • Salmon River girls hockey end season

    The Salmon River Girls Hockey Team have ended their season with a record of 4 wins, 2ties, and 14 losses over-all. Thank you to the coaches Jim Barnes and Liz Durfee for helping them out. They will not be in the play-offs this time. Next season will be a time for rebuilding after losing so many seniors. Good luck to all the seniors and we’ll see the rest of the team next year!...

  • 5th Annual Memorial Wayne Castor Fan Support Award

    Wednesday night’s boys varsity hockey game between Alexandria Bay and Salmon River included a special demonstration in honor of the late Wayne Castor. After the first period of the game a presentation was made by Ken Kane of Kahnawake.     The Massena Lady Raiders netted a convincing 71-27 win over the Norwood Norfolk Lady Flyers last Friday in front of a home crowd. The Lady Raiders outscored the Flyers 16-5 in the first quarter. The Massena effort was led by Alisha Jacobs (4 rebounds, 3 steals, and 4 assists) and Ashley Hawn with 16 points and 4 three pointers apiece.
