The Akwesasne Wolves Bantams had a huge five goal third period on the way to a 9-1 win over the Cornwall Colts Bantams. Aiden Peters and Vance Adams scored two each in the win. Single goals came from Stone Chubb, Khyler Johnson, Kyren Lazore and Rowennaskats Porter. Tsiorahkwahse Benedict, Treyton Sunday and Iate Thomas collected one assist each. Both local teams, the Ice Pigs and Chiefs, continued their winning ways last weekend at the Massena Arena. The Ice Pigs played back-to-back games and won both. Last week the Akwesasne Atom "B" team pulled off a squeaker 2-1 win over the NGS Braves. Kinley Rourke of the Wolves finally connected in the second period to open the scoring. In that scoreless first period Rourke had two big chances but missed. The Massena varsity boy's hockey team recently went on a three-game win streak, the girls varsity team earned a playoff spot, and the boys and girls basketball squads and the wrestling team lost several matches. The boys hockey team's streak started on Jan. 25, where they bested Potsdam 4-2. Potsdam's Jack Brady scored the opening goal 11:55 into the contest, assisted by Carter Brown.
