There was a busload of kids on board and the driver was Minnie Lazore. They were coming back from General Vanier High School and Bishop MacDonell Middle School. As far as anyone remembers no one was seriously injured. Ironically, that day the middle school kids had gone skating at Bob Turner Arena. The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne is announcing the unfortunate update that the A’nowara’ko:wa Arena will be closed for the remainder of the winter/ice season due to the fire on the afternoon of Friday, January 19, 2018.
