    Salmon River Central’s record-breaking boys hockey coach William Plante has been put on administrative leave from his coaching duties, Superintendent Jane Collins confirmed. “Mr. Plante is on leave from coaching,” she said. “I am unable to comment as to any further details.” School board member Stacy Adams said the details are not being made public and Plante’s leave is indefinite, pending completion of an investigation.     The Black Knights traveled to Hallowell, Maine over the weekend to participate in the IJHL Super Elite Showcase.  The team played at the Kennebec Ice Arena (KIA) against the Springfield Junior Pics 8pm Friday night and Mass Mariners at 7:45am Saturday morning.     After a disappointing 6-1-league loss to Potsdam, the number one team in the state, the Salmon River boys’ varsity hockey team responded with a decisive win over New Hartford and a tie with Rome Free Academy.     Alyssa Lazore is a sophomore at Massena Central. This year she wanted to give cheerleading a try and now feels the enjoyment of it all as a member of the squad. The cheerleaders entertain the spectators with gymnastics, dance routines and chants during intermission or half time at sports events.     In Northern Athletic Conference action, the Massena Central wrestlers defeated Ogdensburg by a score of 30-12. This took place on Friday, Jan. 11 at OFA. The weight divisions began at 112 for Steve LaClair, 145 for Phil Barreiro, and 160 for Shane Burnett, who all defeated their OFA opponents by decision.     A group ranging in size from 7 to 15 has been learning the basics of the game of pool/billiards at the Snye Recreation. “It seems like the kids in Snye really like pool,” said Corrine Johnson, who has been teaching the class with Ryan Hill.
