The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne (MCA) Community Health Program has announced that they will be holding one last flu shot clinic in the community on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at the Tsi Snaihne Fire Hall from 3-6pm. Boys Hockey Salmon River 6, Potsdam 3 The Salmon River hockey team scored three unanswered goals in the third period to come away with a 6-3 win over the Potsdam Sandstoners on Saturday, January 12. Potsdam's Max Warden started out the scoring on a power play at the 3:59 mark off an assist from Jacob Keleher. Massena Boys Basketball Win Two Straight The Massena Red Raiders recently pulled a three-point win over the Salmon River Shamrocks on the road, returning home to defeat the Canton Golden Bears 69-41. For the Salmon game, the Shamrocks finished the first quarter ahead 19-11, working up to a 33-24 halftime lead. But Massena had their sailing shoes on when the came back for the third quarter. The Atoms came out flying against South Dundas last week and notched an early goal, but a three goal run in a span of two minutes put the game out of reach and the South Dundas squad took home a 7-1 win. Richard Thompson netted that lone marker with Camryn King assisting....
For the past three years, the Snye Recreation Center has provided the building for students of various ages on Monday nights to play floor hockey. A set of parents, Kwiio and Minn McDonald, have volunteered their time for the students as supervisors over these games. They enjoy it just as much as the kids do. About 25 students have signed up to play for fun, and it is good exercise. This once a week Monday night gives young people a chance to mingle, laugh and share fun and they really look...
