    The Parishville Hopkinton Girls Jr. and Varsity teams were visitors at the campus of Salmon River Central School on Thursday, January 15th.  PH defeated the SR varsity team 47-29.  The JV girls won their match 48-8 against Parishville. Shyanne Brant earned 12 points and 12 boards for her game effort. Aubrey Phillips contributed 7 points and 11 boards.  Also for Salmon River, Erica Francis succeeded in grabbing 9 rebounds.     Kana:takon/St. Regis, Tsiothorkó:wa/January 19, 2009: The 15u Girls Akwesasne Soaring Eagles Volleyball Team competed in their first Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA) tournament over the weekend in Trenton, Ontario. They played against teams from Kingston, Casselman, Ottawa and Peterborough. They played five games throughout the day and placed 7th in the tournament.     The Akwesasne Boys & Girls Club members were delightfully surprised when Mike Thompson of the Buffalo Bandits stopped in for a visit. Thompson is a great player and an athlete that many of the members look up to not just for how he plays in the box but for all the things he does for his community as well.  Playing in nets, Thompson helped the Buffalo Bandits capture the National Lacrosse League championship last season.
