    Submitted by Hannah Leaf Over the weekend of January 14th and 15th, players representing the peewee division of the Akwesasne Broomball Association combined forces with the peewee division team from Carleton Place to compete in the Finch Broomball Tournament.     Photos by Joe Francis The Cornwall Colts Midget AAA hockey team lost to the Hawkesbury Hawks by a nail-biting OT goal. Period one took the Hawks in the lead with a goal by N. Sauve. In period 2, M. Sabourin scored the lone Cornwall goal with an assist by Zenon Biron. Neither team netted a goal in period three but it was the overtime that had everyone on their feet.     The Massena girls varsity basketball team pulled ahead of Salmon River on Jan. 13 20-12 at halftime and never looked back, outscoring them 21-19 in the third and 13-7 in the fourth quarter for a 54-38 win.     A huge third period led to a convincing 9-2 Akwesasne Wolves Peewee win over Cornwall. Kyden Burns scored five in that win including a hat-trick in that big third period.     The 18th annual Bell Capital Cup wrapped up in the Ottawa capital this past weekend. It featured 19 divisions, and 4,700 hockey players forming 262 teams from Canada, the US and Europe.     Depleted opposition benches made for a runaway couple of games for the Chiefs in Massena Men's Broomball. In their first game last Sunday the Akwesasne team had almost two full lines while their opponents-Clarkson-had only one line and two spares. The Chiefs walked to a 7-0 win.
