Idle No More – In House The White Family would like to respond to verify and confirm a few facts, and then some, that was produced by Carol Garrow and her brother, Dan Garrow in the previous letter to the editor. We would like to clarify that there was never any court decision on the estate matter and it doesn’t mean that it is over. All the real facts in the issue surrounding the Matthew Elmer White’s estate will be presented in a future process and we do not want anyone on that property while it is still under dispute. The Ontario Super...
Letter to the Editor, I have given this a lot of thought and have spent a few sleepless nights but after reading the last letter to the editor from the White Family I can no longer stay silent. I was married to Harry “Muzz” McDonald and resided in the U.S. portion of Akwesasne for 19 years. There are so many non-truths in their letter. First they declare, “that there is not one court in Canada that produces any justice for an Indian,” (first I must comment that my late husband hated that term, he preferred Native American), and if I am not mis...
Letter to the Editor – Indian Time I wish to comment on the letters to the Editor regarding the estate and land of the late Matthew Elmer White on Kawehnoke. I know the family of Matthew Elmer White and am familiar with some of the issues surrounding his estate and land. I don’t really know Carol Garrow, but I do think that the estate and land belongs to the White Family. I, too, lost my house and land due to do the workmanship of a previous MCA/AANDC employee in the Lands and Estate department. Or, to be more correct, the lack of properly adm...
