The Akwesasne Mohawk Casino and St. Regis Mohawk Tribe formally celebrated the completion of their $55 million expansion project at the casino Wednesday with guests attending from various agencies involved in the project. Preparation time: 10 min Servings: 12 Cooking time: 0 min Ingredients: 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced 1 avocado 1/4 tsp onion salt 1 lb strawberries, .75 in. cubed 1 cup canned unsweetened pineapple chunks, or tidbits 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar Cooking Directions: Drain and reserve 2 Tbsp pineapple juice*. There was a basketball game for the SRC girls varsity and junior varsity teams on January 8, at SR gymnasium. The games were against Chateaugay for both teams and both victories went to the Shamrocks. When Chateaugay comes to town, spectators know it will be a display of fast pacedness and excitment. The St. Lawrence Thunder Hockey team competed against St. Albans, Vermont on Saturday, January 9 at the St. Lawrence Center Mall. Their games were at 12:15 and 3pm. The first game was won by the Thunder team by a score of 4-3 and 7-3 for the afternoon game. Turner Thomas plays offensively for St. Lawrence Thunder. He lives in Ahkwesahsne and has been playing there for two years. His coach is Todd Manning and Turner enjoys his game of hockey very much....
The Massena Basketball Traveling Team for grades 5 and 6 had success on January 2 as they played against Madrid Waddington. They beat MW with a score of 24-12.
