A True Christmas Story...Beginning of December, and a house of six, which had tons of laundry to do and the washing machine broke down. Hauling laundry to local Laundromats was quite the ordeal, but it has to get done. Three days before Christmas we were all heading to Hannaford's Plaza to do our weekly business. The Laundromat was full of people doing their weekly deeds too. I had six washing machines full and was working like an assembly line putting laundry in, done, putting soap in, done,...
A note of considerable sadness around the community regarding the Christmas basket give-a-way this year. Many community members said forget about it this year due to the discouraging effects from the contents in the basket. Seniors had to be given a choice between a fruit basket (which was very small) or the food box, but no $20 gift certificate from Aldi’s. Single families didn’t even get a certificate, some did but they only got a box of food with 1 can of peas (35¢ at Aldi’s), 1 can of corn (35¢), 1 can of cranberries (35¢) between 3-6 pota...
We are looking for the person who was the Hit and Run driver that hit this vehicle below on New Year's morning at 4:00 am on Route 344 in Kanesatake. To the person that did this - This looks to be an intentional motive to ramming this car full of our young Mohawk men. Look at the wreckage and the force that it took to destroy the entire back end of the car. If it had impacted even one foot closer on the rear door those boys would have been killed. You did not even stop to see if they were injure...
