On Wednesday, November 18, 2015, MCA's Wholistic Health and Wellness Program hosted an Addiction Services Expo at the Senior Center. The event was free and open to the community and was held to create awareness of what services are available in and around Akwesasne to cope with addictions. National Child's Day was on Friday, November 20 and to celebrate MCA Social and Health Departments held the second annual Talent Show and Youth Business Fair. On Thursday, November 12, 2015 the St. Regis Mohawk School held its annual Academic Carnival. The gym was done up carnival style with music, Belly Buttons the Clown painting faces and about 10 booths run by teachers featuring educational games. On Saturday, November 14, 2015 a Native American Fashion Show and Iroquois Social was held in the Barrington Student Union at SUNY Potsdam. The event was put on by the Potsdam Association of Native Americans (PANA), which has been around since at least 1990. On Friday, the Akwesasne Coalition for Community Empowerment hosted the 2nd annual Trunk or Treat. The former IGA parking lot was filled with elaborately decorated trunks in what the coalition calls a safe alternative to door to door trick or treating. On Saturday October 24, 2015, the St. Regis Recreation held their annual Halloween party and costume contest. The event was sponsored by the St. Regis Recreation, the St. Regis Recreation Dance Club, and Mohawk International Raceway, who provided the food and candy. On Saturday night, October 24, the Akwesasne Cancer Support Group hosted the Lights for Hope Walk 2015 at the Tewatahita Walking Trail. Teams and individuals walked from 7pm to 10pm. On Tuesday, October 20th, the St. Regis Recreation Committee hosted Family Pumpkin Decorating at the Recreation. There were 75 pumpkins provided by the recreation along with pizza and wings. It was a beautiful morning again for the second annual Heart to Heart 9K Walk/Run which was held on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Heart to Heart. Over 100 people participated this year and it was a complete success. On Saturday, September 26, 2015 the Twinleaf Cruisers Car Club held a cruise-in at the Akwesasne Trading Post. From 11am to 4pm, beautiful cars packed the parking lot with over 90 cars registered.
