    On Saturday February 8th four girls from the St. Regis Mohawk School travelled to the Malone Middle School to perform in the Franklin All County Music Festival. Tanyr Laffin, Ienonkwahawis, Sophia Mitchell and Hattie Laffin-Almond are all in 5th grade at SRMS and are in band and chorus.     Every morning, Headstart teachers Anen Wheesk and Kanerahtaroroks have Kakwiroton Oakes come into their class at the Kanatakon School. Kakwiroton teaches what you could call a cultural lesson.     On Saturday night a Fashion/Hairstyling Show was held in the Snye Rec gym as part of the 2014 Akwesasne Winter Carnival. The show was coordinated by Katy Tarbell with help from several partners.     Every Wednesday the Akwesasne Quilting Club meets at the St. Regis Recreation to do what they love to do, quilt. The club has been around for about 15 years. Right now there are four steady members, all retirees, but they have had many come and go.     On Friday January 31, Kateri Hall was host to a benefit spaghetti luncheon. Monies raised will go to the family affected by the tragic house fire in Akwesasne last week.     On Sunday, the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort hosted its first annual Spring Bridal Show. The event took place in the Winter Ballroom, a beautiful room to have a wedding in, and there were dozens of vendors on site and hundreds of patrons.
