The spring sports season has debuted with a promising start for many of the Salmon River teams. The weather was cooperative, the fields were dry and there were many first home game wins. The girls' lacrosse team made program history by not only winning the home opener but also achieving its first shutout. The Shamrock Figure Skating Club had its annual ice show February 28th where its members jumped, twirled and glided across the ice. This year Massena has been part of the Stamford Volleyball Association. The SVA club volleyball program has a 15U, 16U, 17U, and an 18U team that is comprised of seven different school districts in our area. The Salmon River boys' hockey squad had a busy hockey week with only one day of rest in between games. Earlier in the week, the Salmon River boys' basketball squad were named Champions at the Darcy Tournament and on Friday night outshot the Brushton –Moira Panthers 22-7 to win 84-45.
