    The Salmon River Varsity Lacrosse Team remains unbeaten with three games remaining in the regular season.  The Shamrocks are currently 11-0 in the league and 12-0 overall.  They have outscored their opponents 240 to 102.  Miles Thompson leads the Team and Section in points and along with Lyle Thompson, Ty Thompson and Mac Mitchell are four of the top ten points leaders in the league.  Varsity has recently beaten Canton (20-11) for the second time, St. Lawrence Central (19-13) and IHC (22-10)...

  • Black Knights Drop Two in Maine

    The Black Knights traveled to Hallowell, Maine over the weekend to participate in the IJHL Super Elite Showcase.  The team played at the Kennebec Ice Arena (KIA) against the Springfield Junior Pics 8pm Friday night and Mass Mariners at 7:45am Saturday morning.     After a disappointing 6-1-league loss to Potsdam, the number one team in the state, the Salmon River boys’ varsity hockey team responded with a decisive win over New Hartford and a tie with Rome Free Academy. Potsdam, 14-1-0, showed the home crowd why they are ranked number one in New York State with a fast, hard hitting, and disciplined game of hockey.     Coaches Roger Huiatt and Pat Martin have taken over management of the Black Knights of New York hockey club and have recruited several local hockey players to finish out the season with the team. Justin Delormier, Jacquis Harris, Aaron Jacobs, Jarett Jacobs, Lakota Jacobs, Max Shea, Wallace Thompson and Jake Treptow have been on or added to the team roster.     The Salmon River Boys Shamrocks traveled to the Utica area this past weekend to play Clinton and Whitesboro in boys’ hockey. The team dropped the first game 5–2 against the always tough Clinton Warriors. Cody Bingham and Skaron Mayo scored for Salmon with assists going to Tehawerahkwatha Herne, Ty Thompson, Bo Adams and Marc Plante. Sonny Lightning and Jake Lazore combined for 35 saves.     North Franklin Midgets posted a 10 – 1 home ice win over Thousand Islands Sunday afternoon. There were lots of points made from lots of fresh faces, including Steve Leroux’s first goal of the season. Moved up from defense, the “D” line of Clay Thomas, Chad Thompson and Iothore Wheesk dominated the play in the offensive zone and picked up several points.
