    On May 29 the Friends of Tewathahita Community Walking Trail hosted the first annual Tewathahita Community Walking Trail golf tournament at Cedar View Golf Course in Massena, NY.     On May 29 the Akwesasne Thunderbirds took on the Snake Island Muskies 8pm start time at the Massena Arena. This was the second time these two teams faced off this season. The Thunderbirds suffered their fifth straight loss with another close score of 9-13.     On May 25, the Akwesasne Freedom School held a bike-a-thon to fundraise for class supplies, field trips and anything else that the school would need for the duration of the school year.     Cornwall Island Redmen took on the Snake Island Muskies at Anowarakowa Arena (Turtle Dome) for the first time this season on May 15 with an 8:30pm start time.     Salmon River Central School recently announced two vacant seats on its school board open for election. The school board seat is a 5-year position responsible for orchestrating the direction of the school and assisting in the success of its students.     Akwesasne’s 2010 senior games took off last week on May 10, 12 and13 at the St. Regis Mohawk Senior Center in Hogansburg with events hosted at the Tri-District Elders in Kawehnoke (Cornwall Island).
