    Akwesasne’s own Nikaiataa Skidders landed on stage at the Glen Building in Cornwall as one of the lead actors in an Agatha Christie murder mystery entitled “The Unexpected Guest”. Nikaiataa graduated from the University of Vermont with a major in Theater and a minor in Film Studies.     Our Community Health Nurses sponsored a benefit for the Cancer Support Group on Friday, October 3rd at the Snye Recreation Center. A Trivia Night was the event for the evening and thirteen teams of four showed up to support a good cause and have some fun too. Volunteer Danielle Oakes-Jacobs acted as Emcee and moderator for the evening.   • The Moving Wall

    The Moving Wall, a smaller scale portable replica of the Vietnam Wall in Washington, D. C., was on display from Sept. 25-29th at the High School in St. Regis Falls, NY. A parade of police and motorcycles escorted the Moving Wall into town where it was put together by a dedicated committee of volunteers.     The Iroquois Museum in Howe’s Cavern, NY held their 27th Annual Festival over the Labor Day weekend. Mother Nature contributed to the program by providing lots of sunshine and cool breezes for the festival goers, the arts and craft vendors, the volunteers and the workers.     The Iroquois Nationals played during the International Lacrosse Federation World Games U-19 Field Lacrosse Championships held in Coquitlam, B.C. The Nationals came away with a Bronze Medal, the second time they received the Bronze (Australia 1999) since the games began. The Nationals defeated the team from England by a score of 19-10 to win the Bronze medal. Team USA defeated Canada by a score of 19-12 to capture the Gold Medal again.
