    The 2011 Presidents Cup Tournament is being hosted this year by the Snake Island Muskies at the A’nowara’ko:wa Arena between August 29 until the Championship Game on Sunday, September 4.     The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne has been working for the past two years on a claim against the Canada Border Services Agency within the Canadian Human Rights Commission. The CHRC is an independent body established by Parliament in 1977 that first tries to get the parties to mediate a solution, and if that fails, determine whether a complaint once filed has merit to be reviewed by Canadian Human Rights Tribunal.     The Native North American Traveling College hosted the 2011 Friendship Days over the weekend in a first-ever two-day event on the Ronathahonni grounds.     The Akwesasne Library hosted their annual Summer Reading Program in three different sessions throughout this past summer. Three different teachers worked with the different age groups as part of New York State’s summer reading program.     The Akwesasne Freedom School’s first online quilt auction closed on bidding this past Monday with the successful bid going to Cindy Lazore for $400. The AFS Parent Committee had chosen the quilt during an organizing meeting for the Annual Dinner, which is being held on August 27 and 28.
