    The Akwesasne Jr. B Indians began their second series of the 2011 playoff season against Halton Hills this past weekend. They played first on Saturday night with Halton Hills taking the early lead scoring in the first 31 seconds of the game. Both teams proved to be an even match as they ended the first period tied at 3-3. Goals scored by the Indians in the first period go to T. Roundpoint, Z. Hopps and K. Davey.     Ky Tarbell participated in the in an elite training camp over the weekend called ESPN Rise Warrior 40. While playing at a tournament in Florida for the Kanienkehaka Krunch lacrosse team he was asked to tryout for the Warrior 40 at Hofstra University.     The Daily Courier Observer ran an article regarding an incident at the Cornwall Port of Entry on June 18 where a Haudenosaunee Passport was seized. The article outlines that the local resident was traveling with a family member and was asked for identification. Upon producing the Haudenosaunee Passport the pair were pulled in for secondary inspection.     On Tuesday, June 21, the State Court’s Appellate Division in Seneca Nation of Indians v the State of New York lifted the Temporary Restraining Order preventing enforcement of the cigarette tax scheme on Reservations statewide, including the Saint Regis Mohawk Reservation.     Rumors began swirling on Facebook Tuesday of a bear sighting in Akwesasne.     Having a baby is a joyous occasion, but while out with family shopping in Massena Karissa Cook received a phone call that would devastate her entire family. This program is open to all Akwesasro:non, regardless of residency, and provides a non-profit, fresh fruit and vegetable distribution system that is available for purchase.     At the end of May, Akwesasne hosted a delegation of Choctaw traveling from Mississippi for a cultural exchange of each nation’s medicine games. 51 people from the Choctaw territory traveled by bus, stopping first in Kanienke to visit that community before finally traveling here to Akwesasne.
