    On Friday, March 2, 2012, the Akwesasne Boys & Girls Club (ABGC) was treated to a floor hockey game with team members from the Akwesasne Warriors Hockey Team. ABGC’s Sports and Recreation Coordinator Steevi King worked with Warriors Management to arrange a time for the club members to be able to interact with and challenge their local heroes.     Akwesasne Boys & Girls Club has partnered with St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police to provide incentives to our Club Member of the Month program. With support from the Tribal Police Department, the ABGC will vote for an overall Club Member of the Month. The new incentive Program began with a representation by Officer Kristen Jacobs on Friday, March 2nd.   • Akwesasne Boys & Girls Club hosted its annual "kids helping kids" fundraiser

    Each year the Akwesasne Boys & Girls Club hosts a “Kids Helping Kids” Fundraiser and on Saturday, February 18, 2012, Club Members, Staff and Board members banded together to raise funds to assist one of their own, Braxtyn Dumas. Miss Dumas is to undergo a series of medical procedures over the next year including a liver transplant and the Club wanted to provide assistance to the family.     Club Member of the Month is a new incentive undertaken by Miss Steevi King, Sports and Recreation Coordinator. Each month coordinators and program assistants will choose a Club member of the month from each age group.   • Peewees win in Glens Falls tourney

    The Massena Peewee Team traveled to Glens Falls this past weekend to participate in the Extreme Freeze Hockey Tournament. After three successful wins the team qualified for the championship game that ended in a tie after three periods and went into sudden death overtime. Massena was able to pull off the win in overtime and brought home the championship banner that will be hung at Massena Arena.
