This event was held on August 11, 2012 and the Akwesasne Cancer Support Group was invited to participate and receive one-third of their proceeds. The campaign ran for 6 weeks to inform the community about the backlegged/deer ticks in our community, how to reduce your risk of being bitten by an infected tick, and what to do if you are bitten. Two contests were held on July 25, a radio and a ballot box contest at the Kanonhkwatsheri:io entrance.
