On June 20, 2009, a Blanding’s Turtle, a threatened species in New York State, was found by Jacoba North on the centerline of Route 37 between IGA and the Casino. Jacoba contacted the SRMT Environment Division, who then contacted Glenn Johnson, a biology professor.
