Salmon River Central Students Exhibit Artwork During Annual Remington Arts Festival

(Canton, NY) - Salmon River Central School District's Art Department is proud to announce that the work of 13 students had been selected for exhibit in the Remington Arts Festival Student Art Exhibit at TAUNY (Traditional Arts in Upstate NY) in Canton. Pieces by six Salmon River High School students and seven Salmon River Middle School students are among the 166 pieces of art from 20 schools represented at the show this year.

Adriana Reardon was the recipient of the First Place Award in High School Collage for her self-portrait, "Chillin'," earning a certificate and $50.00. Kaylee Adams also received a Heart Award, noted by the judges for her photograph, "Steps". The winners from the middle school included 7th grader Jayden Lazore (Committee Award with a stained glass ornament), 6th graders Jarrett St. Ann (Honorable Mention with $25) and Sierra Riley (Heart award medal).

There was an opening reception followed by a short awards ceremony on Saturday, October 3rd at 11:30am at TAUNY to celebrate the student artists. The theme for the show is, "From Observation".
